You’ll Never Walk Alone

Sung by American contralto Christine Johnson in the original 1945 Broadway production

Sung by Shirley Jones and American contralto Claramae Turner in the 1956 film version. My opinion? Turner’s is the definitive rendition!

Sung by Judy Garland

Sung by American soprano Renee Fleming

You’ll Never Walk Alone
Music by Richard Rodgers
Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein
From the 1945 stage musical “Carousel”

When you walk through a storm /
Hold your head up high /
And don’t be a-fraid of the dark /
At the end of the storm /
Is a gol-den sky /
And the sweet sil-ver song of a lark /

Walk on through the wind /
Walk on through the rain /
Though your dreams be tos-sed and blown /
Walk on / walk on /
With hope in your heart /
And you’ll ne-ver walk a-lone /
You’ll ne-ver walk a-lone!

Chinese Translation by 御風

You’ll Never Walk Alone!
