April Showers

Sung by Al Jolson

April Showers
Music by Louis Silvers
Lyrics by B. G. De Sylva
1921

Life is not a high-way strewn with flow-ers /
Still it holds a good-ly share of bliss /
When the sun gives way to A-pril show-ers /
here’s the point you should ne-ver miss /

Though A-pril show-ers / may come your way /
they bring the flow-ers / that bloom in May /
So if it’s rain-ing / have no re-grets /
Be-cause it is-n’t rain-ing rain / you know / it’s rain-ing vi-o-lets /

And where you see clouds / u-pon the hills /
You soon will see crowds / of daf-fo-dils /
So keep on loo-king for a blue bird / and liste-ning for his song /
whe-ne-ver A-pril show-ers come a-long!
