The Sound of Thunder 大地一聲雷 is maintained by Bevin Chu, author of The China Desk and other free market, anti-interventionist weblogs.

The Sound of Thunder is dedicated to Opera, Operetta, Art Songs, Show Tunes, the Great American Songbook, and other forms of vocal music.

The Sound of Thunder consists of songs I am learning or about to learn. Posts include the lyrics, links to some of the better audio or video performances of the song, and to free downloads of the sheet music if available.

To help myself understand and memorize the lyrics, I type them out, indicating how they should be sung and where I should take breaths.

I post them online primarily to make it easier for myself to archive and access. But if fellow music lovers find them useful, so much the better!
